Lao Gong is an acupressure point crucial for healing work and Qigong practice. It is activated to alleviate anxiety and reduce inflammation.

Lao Gong is part of the Heart meridian. It is situated in the palm of the hand, close to the base of the ring finger. This meridian's role is to regulate the flow of everything that connects with our heart and soul.

Hands: Receivers and Transmitters of Energy.

We encounter numerous stimuli, some beneficial and others not. The Lao Gong point's function is to filter and allow only the positive elements for us.

The hands are seen as receivers and transmitters of energy.

As a receptor, the center of the palms, where the Lao Gong point is situated, serves as an energy radar that enables us to sense emptiness, coldness, blockages, or inflammations on the surface or from a distance in the energy body, organs, or internal energy centers, either in ourselves or others.

As an emitter, the Lao Gong point is the most powerful. It functions as a source of energy where the three meridian rivers flowing down the arm converge: the lung, the heart, and the heart protector.

Reiki & Lao Gong Point

Are you familiar with Reiki or healing hands?

Reiki is an ancient healing practice renowned for inducing a sense of deep peace and relaxation. Reiki practitioners utilize the Lao Gong point to channel universal energy as "qi," fostering balance and promoting self-healing.

This is why Reiki is also referred to as palm healing, healing hands, or hands-on healing.

Teaching Exercises for the Lao Gong Point.

We can activate the Lao Gong point through various exercises.

In my Qigong classes, I instruct students in different techniques to massage the Lao Gong point, which aids in relieving insomnia, agitation, anxiety, and fear.

These exercises promote calmness and tranquility.

How to Activate the Lao Gong Point

Bring your hands together in a prayer position in front of your heart, aligning the Lao Gong points. Rub your hands together briskly for a few seconds.

Next, gently separate your hands, slowly and calmly, ensuring that the Lao Gong points continue to face each other.

Close your eyes and focus on the space between your palms.

You will notice warmth and a tingling sensation in your hands. This is the ball of fire or chi "Qi" between your hands.

The following video demonstrates a practice utilizing this significant point, featuring 3 exercises to stimulate the Lao Gong point.

By stimulating the Lao Gong point, you will awaken to a transformed world and a distinctive moment in time.

Maintaining a gentle approach towards yourself and others for the rest of the day will help sustain this peaceful and renewed state.

My Masters consistently emphasized the significance of stimulating the Lao Gong point, as it activates the fire element in our hearts. This fire element is essential for keeping our spirit vibrant!
