Qigong: The Happy, Balance, and Peaceful Experience!

Updated: May 9, 2020

Like all of you, I have been following the rapidly evolving developments around the

COVID -19 and considering the many ways the pandemic altered my life, the lives of those closest to me, and all the people over the world.

I would like to update all of you on all the things that we have been working on since the last blog post on March 26.

These past few weeks have been a powerful reminder of just how connected we are to one another and how much we value our connections.

I feel blessed that Sadana Center has been able to continue with the classes. We did the transition from physical to virtual live-stream classes using the zoom platform. I am very grateful for my wife, Simo Ana, who has helped me in this transition.

I miss my students... as all you may know, we still cannot open our center. We know the online classes cannot replace the intimacy and power of the classes when we gather at the Kwoon (studio), but we are thankful we can still hold a virtual space for all of you when it's needed most.

Simo Ana updated the Sadana Center website with new information about the online classes and set up the Zoom meeting platform to do the live stream transmission. It has been trial and error practice, but the most important part of all this process has been our students. We would like to say a big THANK YOU to our students who have been very patience with the transition and supportive in these difficult times, sending us wonderful comments and blessings. Following are some of their feedback:

I didn't know what to expect with today's class but I was very pleased. It changed my energy completely. I think that starting with the gratitude exercise was perfect especially in light of what we are all experiencing theses days. Thank you Shifu and Simo for putting this together. I look forward to the next event.

Thank you for a wonderful class! I am taking your advice and having a retreat day on Monday. A day of silence, fasting, moving chi, meditation. Thank you for mentioning it to me.

The online classes have been great! Big thanks to you, Shifu, and Ana for navigating and trying something new with the zoom meetings. Thank you for providing us with a remote practice containing all the love and Qi found our group class. I feel so connected and I love revisiting the recordings to review the material and keep up with my practice each day. Thank you!

Since so many people are self-isolating and or being quarantined, now is the time to practice Qigong even more on your own. Thankfully we have our online classes to do this.

One of the benefits of Qigong practice is mental health. Qigong helps to reduce stress, and balance emotions. When you are in balance, you’re able to develop a clear and tranquil mind. It is crucial to stay calm to keep our immune system strong.

I adapt my classes with the times we are living and I incorporate deep breathing and stretching. If you haven't try Qigong, I would like you to try one of my classes. The Qigong movements are easy to follow and work both the body and mind to their fullest potential.

My classes are designed to help alleviate stress and elevate your mood. Currently, I am focusing on qigong exercises to reinforce the immune system.

If you have a friend that is suffering from depression and anxiety due to the uncertain times, please share this post with them so they can learn about qigong.

If you’ve been practicing yourself, please share your experiences and any qigong benefits you’ve experienced first-hand in the comments below.

To end with, I would like to invite you to share the online event we will have next Saturday, May 16 at 10:30 AM with Zoom meetings: "Tiger Qigong & Gong Bath Meditation", where I will have a special class perfect for beginners with the Shamanic Tiger Qigong style exercises to reinforce the immune system, relax your body and mind to reduce unwanted tension and stress and many other benefits.

In this class, I will also play the Gong that has been used for thousands of years as a powerful method for reducing stress. Its vibration creates an ocean of sound that is profoundly relaxing. Click this link to learn more.

If you know anyone who may benefit from this post please share the link with them.
