Qigong for Forty and Older

Dear Qi friends,

This week, we did Qigong water exercises in-studio and in our online classes.

If you have never practiced Qigong you may wonder: What is Qigong water exercises?

According to Chinese Medicine, after the age of 40, the body begins to lose water. That means that the bones of the body begin to weaken, the skin becomes dry due to a lack of nutrients, the hair falls out, and the hormones become unbalanced.

With all these changes in the body plus a bad diet (junk food), the stress in which we live, we increase more fire in the body, which means that we do not breathe with consciousness.

Our breathing is very agitated, and the organs do not receive enough oxygen to do their functions.

Bad food choices (junk food).

It is like a car from which we demand a lot without giving it good maintenance, and as a result, we evaporate the water.

That's the reason why people get injured when they do high impact exercise, like resistance exercises, training camps, CrossFit, weight lifting, etc, because the density of the bones is not as strong as when you were in your 20s or 30s.

High impact exercises.

After the holidays, the most common New Year's resolutions are #1 working out to get in shape and #2 loose weight. Qigong is for all adult ages, but if you are 40+ age Taichi and QiGong are a wonderful fitness choice for you.

Qigong Water exercises are low impact exercises where we work with breathing.

When you breathe slowly you are energizing the internal organs, the arteries open, the blood flows better, and your brain receives more oxygen.

Qigong will help you lose weight and feel balanced.
