Today we are publishing the next testimonial from Katherine C, a Sadana Center student that has been with us since March 2019.

"Several years ago, I finally admitted to myself that I had gotten terribly out of shape. My muscles and joints felt rigid and achy. I would joke about it taking 15 minutes to get up from sitting on the floor.

I came across Sadana Center, and as marital arts had played a large positive part in my son’s physical therapy throughout his childhood, I thought I would try Qigong.

At first, I felt awkward – going left when I should have been going right, etc. Everyone else would make the movements and balancing look so easy and simple.

Our Sadana Center family.

What kept me from getting discouraged was from the beginning, I would leave each class amazingly relaxed and less stressed. I was truly amazed how certain movements would make me break out in a sweat and then the next set of movements would quickly cool me down.

Even before I truly felt I was flowing with the class, I could feel the physical and mental effects of Qigong.

After two years, I feel much more limber, energetic and less stressed. I truly can feel when I flow with the energy. Learning to put the emphasis on my breathing was key for me.

My balance has definite improved. As a result of all this combined, I have lost 50 pounds.

When the Covid pandemic hit, doing Qigong with the class online- as well as – practicing daily at home, enabled me to cope with a completely new form of stress and anxiety with an unusual calmness from within.

Another aspect of joining Sadana Center has been the introduction of other healing therapies, such as Reiki, Sound Healing and Meditation. I have acquired a passion for Reiki healing.

For me, it takes the relaxation and stress relief to another level.
