Summer Qigong is all about Heart

Qigong exercises are often practiced in conjunction with the season and the weather. One can maximize the benefits of specific Qigong practices based on a particular season and even the time of day.

One of my favorites Qigong exercises to practice during the summer is a set known as "White Crane".

This set of exercises focuses on arm movements to stimulate the meridians of the heart. The heart is connected with the fire element. When the fire is in balance, it is warm, glowing, and inviting. If the Fire element is out of balance, a person’s joy can be imbalanced. This could manifest depression or too much anger and chaos.

The virtues of the Fire element "Li"are: Joy, charisma, connection, sharing, fun, play, communication, and love.

Qigong shows people how to take more responsibility for their own health care and achieve benefits for their body, mind, and spirit.

If you want to discover the many benefits of this ancient practice, we have a few spots available in our Monday & Thursday class at 7:15 PM.

What to eat during Summer

Our body, mind, and spirit could prosper if we practice specific Qigong exercises, diets, and lifestyle modifications during each season.

During this time, avoid heavy meals, especially on the hottest days, as they make the body slowly.

Sauté some cucumber or spinach, and eat fish, tomatoes, eat fruits like mangoes, pears, watermelons, melon, strawberries, and pineapples.

During this season, you should eat herbs and spicy foods, which increase the flow of energy and can help maintain normal and healthy sweating.

watermelon is full of amazing health benefits, especially during the summer season.

Please in this new season staying hydrated, is very important during the summer season as well as eating lighter meals and foods (Yin food).

Another way to connect with the summer energy is through healing sounds for your heart.

According to Chinese Medicine, every internal organ has its own healing sound.

This Saturday, June 26th at 10:00 AM join us for our NEW Sound Bath Meditation where I will teach healing sounds that are connected to the heart to release anxiety and welcome happiness in this new season.

Embrace this Summer Solstice with all your heart!

Love and Qi healing!
